First snow flurries could fall in D.C. area this weekend

Could we see a snow flake or two this weekend in the D.C. region. Well, we're saying there's a chance-- actually two chances-- but neither are expected to produce significant snow. Still, if you're waiting to see that first flurry, this could be your moment.

The first shot at flurries is what will be a close call for the D.C. region late Friday night. A weak coastal storm will develop, but is expected to say east of the D.C. region. Still, locations south and east of the city could see their first flurries. Folks in southern Maryland and along the lower eastern shore have the best chances of seeing flakes late Friday and into Saturday morning.

Then on Saturday, a clipper system passing to our north is expected to bring another chance of snow showers to the D.C. region, but no accumulating snow is expected and even these will be hit or miss.

What we do know is that temperatures are about to get colder. Highs on Sunday aren't expected to reach 40°.
