Firefighters injured, families displaced after early morning fire in Anne Arundel County
SEVERN, Md. - Several families are out of their homes and two freighters were injured after an early morning fire damaged three houses in Anne Arundel County.
The two-alarm fire was reported just before 2 a.m. Monday at a home on Meade Village Circle in Severn. The fire spread to the adjacent home and smoke damaged a third home.
Officials say smoke alarms alerted the residents to the fire and allowed them to get to safety before firefighters arrived. In total, six adults and nine children were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The two firefighters were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in good condition.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
