BETHESDA, Md. - A firefighter suffered dehydration while battling an overnight blaze at a large home in Montgomery County. The fire was reported around 1 a.m. in Bethesda on the 7000 block of Whittier Boulevard near Clearwood Road.
FOX 5's Annie Yu says 100 firefighters responded to the home. The firefighter who suffered from dehydration is expected to be okay, Yu reported.
Authorities have reported that the 2-story colonial home was under renovation and reportedly unoccupied when the fire was reported. Neighbors have told Yu that a family was living at the home during the renovations. Officials say that the family is unaccounted for but believed to be staying elsewhere.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage estimates are at around $1 million. All roads in the area have been reopened.
