Fiery crash leaves one dead along GW Parkway

MOUNT VERNON, Va. - Authorities are investigating a deadly crash on the George Washington Memorial Parkway Friday. The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. along the southbound lanes of the parkway near Stratford Lane in the North Mount Vernon area.

The crash involved one vehicle which left the roadway, struck a tree and burst into flames. The crash is under investigation at this time. Drivers can expect delays in the area throughout the morning,
