FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A fire broke out on a plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport Friday afternoon.
Witnesses said the FedEx jet skidded on landing and then erupted into flames, though officials have not confirmed yet how the plane caught fire.
Broward County Fire was responding to the scene. WSVN reported the plane has since been sprayed with foam by rescue crews on the runway and the situation was under control.
The runway was shut down, WSVN reported.
There's no word yet on any injuries.
