BEALETON, Va. - The FBI is now involved in the investigation into the deaths of a father and son in Fauquier County, according to police.
Federal investigators are working with local and state authorities to investigate the death of Duong and America Nguyen.
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a home in the 11000 block of Salisbury Drive in Bealeton for a welfare check on Friday after friends and co-workers reported concerns that 22-year-old America Nguyen had not shown up to work.
Deputies discovered the bodies of America Nguyen and his father, 61-year-old Duong Nguyen, inside the home. Authorities said the father and son had been shot to death.
The last contact anyone had with America Nguyen was on Nov. 7 when he communicated with a family member via social media, according to investigators.
America Nguyen's co-workers at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly said he was responsible and hard-working. He also had just accepted a job with Amazon.
If you have any information that could aid detectives in their investigation, you're urged to call the sheriff's office at (540) 347-3300.
