Fatal shooting on 8th Street NW

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch say that they are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Saturday, in the 1700 block of 8th Street, Northwest.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m.members of the Third District say that they heard sounds of gunshots in the area. While investigating, they received information that an adult male victim had arrived at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving efforts failed, and the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 28-year-old Reginald Perry of Northwest, DC.
