Family of boy shot to sue apartment complex
The family of a little boy shot last year while playing on a playground in the district will file a lawsuit against the apartment complex where it happened.
9-year-old Jaydan Stancil was shot in the head back in October in a parking lot at the Mayfair Mansions apartments in northeast.
Stancil recovered, but still wears a helmet. He was released after a three-month stay in the hospital.
He underwent plastic surgery, however, the bullet will remain lodged in his brain.
In December, Stancil was surprised with tickets to see his favorite WWE wrestlers.
Anyone who has tips about Jaydan's shooter should call the D.C. police tipline at 202-727-9099 or text message 50411. There is a $10,000 reward in this case.
