Fairfax County police capture escaped prisoner
MOUNT VERNON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Fairfax County police have arrested a prisoner who escaped from custody after being treated at a local hospital early Tuesday morning.
According to police, they responded to the 6100 block of Richmond Highway to help a fire and rescue crew after two bail bondsmen caught 27-year-old Jaquan Ross.
Shortly after his capture Tuesday, Ross - who was wanted on multiple warrants throughout Northern Virginia - complained of pain and asked to be taken to a local hospital.
Shortly after he'd been treated, Ross broke free and ran toward Route 1, still wearing a handcuff on his right wrist.
Multiple officers, K9 units and a helicopter assisted in the search, but he escaped.
Police said they finally did capture Ross early Wednesday morning. Ross was wanted in connection with a number of violent crimes including assault and destruction of property.
