Driver raped intellectually disabled passenger aboard MetroAccess vehicle, police say

The driver of a MetroAccess vehicle has been arrested and faces charges after police say he raped an intellectually disabled passenger earlier this week in Prince George's County.

Police say 40-year-old Deymon Childs, who is an employee of First Transit which operates MetroAccess service for Metro, was arrested on Wednesday.

Officers say Childs raped the adult female victim onboard the vehicle along Brightseat Road in Hyattsville after picking her up at her scheduled location. The victim and driver were alone in the vehicle during the alleged assault.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Childs faces second-degree rape, third-degree sex offense, and second-degree assault charges.
