Disabled vehicle struck, driver killed along Interstate 270

CLARKSBURG, Md. - A motorist was killed after a disabled vehicle was struck by oncoming traffic overnight in Clarksburg. The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. along northbound Interstate 270 at Route 121.

Investigators believe a vehicle became disabled on the highway and was stuck from behind by a second vehicle.

The driver of the disabled vehicle was killed. The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

All traffic was closed for hours and vehicles were forced to exit at exit 18 prior to the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
