DC to address violence after spike in homicides

D.C.'s mayor is meeting with community leaders Thursday night to address violence in the city.

The meeting is open to the public.

The city is concerned about the murder rate, which has gone up 20 percent since last year.

Since last Tuesday, seven people have lost their lives to violence, including a 15-year-old.

Police say there have been 63 murders so far this year compared to 52 by this same time last year.
