DC police look for robber who Tasered woman, stole $2,000 cash

Police are investigating after a woman reported being Tasered and robbed of $2,000 cash as she was walking in the Cleveland Park neighborhood late Friday.

It happened on the 3500 block of Macomb Street NW, a few blocks from the National Cathedral. No arrests have been made in the case.

According to a police report, it was just before midnight when the woman was attacked. She told officers that the suspect came up behind her, Tased her neck and then dragged her by her purse along the sidewalk. The woman told police the suspect demanded she hand over her Louis Vuitton bag, stealing credit cards, her driver's license and $2,000 cash.

It's unclear why the woman was carrying that much money. DC police told FOX 5 there's no reason to believe the victim knew her attacker.

The police report indicates the woman lives in the Cleveland Park area, but she was several blocks away from home when she was robbed.

The victim said the robber got away in a white, 4-door sedan.
