DC police announce new speed camera locations

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Drivers will have to watch their speed more carefully in a few more spots around Washington.

D.C. police say the department will be deploying new speed enforcement locations starting Monday.

The department says the six new cameras are being used in areas where speeding is known to be a problem. They are all in areas with 25 mph speed limits.

After a 30-day education phase, when violators will receive warning citations, police will begin issuing citations to anyone caught speeding in those zones.
