DC opens memorial to 9 killed in 2009 Red Line crash

A memorial honoring the nine people killed in the 2009 crash on Metro's Red Line opened on Monday.

Legacy Memorial Park includes nine sculptural artworks and a memorial wall remembering those that were killed. Monday marked six years since the crash.

The park is located at the corner of 5720 New Hampshire Ave. NE and North Dakota Avenue NE. It's near the site of the Red Line crash, which happened between the Tacoma Park and Fort Totten stations.
