Daniel Snyder named most hated owner in NFL

Washington Redskins fans are one of the most passionate fan bases in all of sports, but they have not had much to cheer about in recent years. After making the playoffs in the 2012 season, the team has gone 7-25 in the two seasons since then.

With the team's lack of success and the ongoing debate around the country about the team's nickname, it may not be so surprising that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is considered the most hated owner in the NFL, according to Sports Illustrated.

In its list of "The most hated people, places and things in the NFL," the magazine says fans can't stand him and he has frequently clashed with the media.

"What has caused such strife between Snyder and Washington's fans? It starts with little things like Snyder charging them money to attend training camp--a practice that's no longer occurring because of the backlash--to the simpler explanation: He's been unable to produce a winner," the magazine says.

Since 1999, the Redskins have made the playoffs only four times in the 16 seasons Snyder has been the team's owner. Current head coach Jay Gruden is the eighth head coach during his regime.
