D.C. man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl
WASHINGTON - A Washington, D.C. man pleaded guilty Friday to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at his home.
The Department of Justice announced that Dwayne L. Curtis, Sr., 61, was convicted on one count of first-degree child sexual abuse.
According to prosecutors, Curtis admitted that between Jan. 12 and Jan. 14, 2021, he forced the 11-year-old girl to perform a sex act while at his home in Northwest D.C. twice.
The abuse was later reported to the Metropolitan Police Department and Curtis was charged.
As part of his guilty plea, Curtis is expected to be sentenced to 180 months in prison, with half of that time suspended, and five years supervised probation following his release. He will also have to register as a sex offender. His sentencing is scheduled for August 11, 2023, pending the court's approval.
