Construction worker dead after police say tractor trailer drove into construction zone

A construction worker is dead in an early morning accident involving a tractor trailer.

The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. along northbound Interstate 95 near the Intercounty Connector.

Police believe the driver of the tractor trailer drove into a construction zone and struck a construction work truck.

A second construction vehicle was then hit by the tractor trailer resulting in the construction worker being struck.

The victim was transported to Laurel Regional Medical Center where he later died. He has been identified as 62-year-old Randy Jury of Halifax, Pennsylvania.

The operator of the tractor trailer, 42-year-old Jeremy Ray Bolden of Charlotte, North Carolina, was transported to the Prince George's County Hospital.

Drivers can expect heavy backups in the area of northbound Interstate 95 and Route 200 throughout the morning.
