Community reacts to large federal law enforcement presence seen in Columbia Heights
There was a large presence of law enforcement seen in Northwest D.C. tonight following an incident. The details of what happened are not yet clear, but FOX 5 is working to learn more.
WASHINGTON - Chaos broke out in Columbia Heights Tuesday night as federal law enforcement officers and D.C. police flooded the area of 14th Street and Perry Place, NW, for an unknown incident.
What we know:
Several different agencies were at the scene, including officers with the Department of Homeland Security, ICE and MPD.
There were several law enforcement vehicles in the area and streets blocked off as officials worked.
What we don't know:
It's not yet clear what the federal law enforcement officials were responding to.
FOX 5 has reached out to federal agencies and MPD to request additional details.
