Community fights to save a piece of Black History in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A plan to demolish a dilapidated building in Hagerstown is on hold as some in the local African American community says it has historical significance.

According to state property records, the building was built in 1902. More than 117 years later, it's clear to see the building has fallen into a state of disrepair.

A community forum will be held Tuesday night at the Elgin Station Center in Hagerstown.

This will be an opportunity for the community to talk about inclusion long before the debate over the historic building became an issue.
