Chilly close to winter; warmer weather expected later this week as spring arrives
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A cold start to the last full day of winter as the D.C. region prepares to welcome in the spring season. Temperatures hovered in the 20s and 30s to start the morning Tuesday. A warmer afternoon is expected with seasonable temperatures in the 40s and 50s and plenty of sunshine.

After a season filled with messy wintry mixes and rainy weekends the arrival of spring at 5:58 p.m. on March 20 will be a welcome change. The cool start to the workweek will give way to warmer temperatures as we near the weekend. We'll try to get all of the rain out of the way on Thursday leaving us with a mostly sunny Saturday and temperatures in the 60s on Sunday.
