Child dead in crash involving motorcycle in Maryland

The victim is seven-year-old Alejandro Santos of Cherrywood Terrace in Greenbelt.

Preliminarily, it appears a motorcycle heading westbound on East West Highway collided with a car that was making a left turn into a shopping center. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle then crashed into four pedestrians who were standing on the sidewalk at the crosswalk waiting to cross the street.

Preliminarily, speed on the part of the motorcycle rider appears to be a factor.
