Candlelight vigil planned for Woodbridge woman shot, killed by boyfriend
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Friends and family are planning a candlelight vigil for a Woodbridge woman who was shot and killed on December 15.
Brittney Koster, 25, died after her boyfriend pointed a gun at her and accidentally fired, authorities say.
The Rappahannock News reported that David Michael Williams, 22, is now facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless handling of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm in association with Koster's death.
Koster was a student at George Mason University and active in the EPCW Adult Coed Softball League.
The softball league is planning a tournament in her honor this spring. They have set up a GoFundMe page to help her family handle final expenses.
The candlelight vigil begins at 6 p.m. at the Dublin Coffman High School varsity softball field.
Attendees should bring candles, balloons or photos.
