An off-duty Calvert County sheriff’s deputy was involved in a deadly crash with a pedestrian, according to the sheriff’s office.

CALVERT COUNTY, Md. - An off-duty Calvert County sheriff’s deputy was involved in a deadly crash with a pedestrian on Dares Beach Road on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

Authorities said the deputy was driving a personal vehicle.

Maryland State Police are taking over the investigation, according to officials.
