Boy struck by vehicle in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Fire officials say a 4-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle in Silver Spring Tuesday afternoon.

Pete Piringer of Mongomery County Fire and Rescue tweeted the young pedestrian was hit at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and August Drive.

The child was transported to the hospital and is believed to have serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
