Barricade situation ends after woman taken into custody
WASHINGTON - A woman has been taken into custody following an overnight barricade situation that lasted several hours and closed roads during the morning commute.
The incident began around 1:30 a.m. along the 1900 block of K Street in Northwest D.C. Police say a woman barricaded herself inside of a building on that block. Officers confirmed a weapon was discharged, however, it was not clear if the weapon belonged to the woman.
M and K Streets, between 18th and 21st Streets, were closed for hours until reopening shortly before 11 a.m.
It is unclear what charges, if any, the woman will face.
