Authorities give all-clear after investigating suspicious package in Beltsville

BELTSVILLE, Md. - Police, fire and bomb squad personnel in Prince George's County have given the all-clear at a Beltsville neighborhood after investigating a suspicious item located in front of a home.

According to Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesperson Mark Brady, authorities investigated what appeared to be a suitcase left near a trash can in the 7600 block of Whethersfield Place after a call was made by a concerned resident.

A bomb squad robot was deployed to see what was inside the suitcase.

Residents nearby the area were evacuated from their homes as the suspicious package was investigated.
