Arrest made in possible gang-related murder in Fairfax County

Police have made an arrest after a man was found dead along a popular Fairfax County trail in March.

Back on March 16, the body of 22-year-old William Adolfo Rivas Leiva was found in the woods off of a busy walking path along Hiddenbrook Drive in Herndon near Folly Lick Stream.

Police arrested Moises Dominguez, 18, of Sterling, on Wednesday and charged him with murder.

Police say the victim had suffered some sort of blunt force trauma to the upper body.

Detectives are now looking into the possibility that the homicide was gang-related.

In the month since the murder, neighbors say they have been more cautious. Police are patrolling the area and the path is still popular among area teenagers and those out for some exercise.

After the body of Rivas Leiva was found in Herndon, about four hours later, the body of a 19-year-old man was discovered in a wooded area in Annandale.

That case remains under investigation and police say they don't have any evidence to show the cases may be related.
