Arlington garage fire sends man to burn center; firefighter suffers dehydration

Authorities say two people, including a firefighter were taken to the hospital following an overnight fire in Arlington.

The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. inside a detached garage on the 2300 block of South Hayes Street. Officials say the occupant remains hospitalized in the burn center in serious condition. The firefighter was hospitalized for transported for dehydration.

The Red Cross is assisting two other occupants of the house. There was no extension to the main property.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
