Anacostia Metro station reopens after report of smoke

The Anacostia Metro station has reopened after earlier fire department activity Thursday afternoon, according to a tweet from the transit agency. Officials investigated a report of smoke in a mechanical room.

Shuttle bus service was made available from Navy Yard and Congress Heights, Metro said. Passengers were told to expect delays in both directions on the Green Line.

As of 4:30 p.m., trains were once again servicing the Anacostia station.
