African American History Museum temporarily evacuated for suspicious package
WASHINGTON - U.S. Park Police say normal operations have resumed at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture after a suspicious package temporarily caused an evacuation at the museum.
Police say the suspicious package was found on the second floor of the building and people were safely evacuated from the museum at around 6:45 p.m. Monday.
The museum tweeted that D.C. police investigated and cleared the package.
This incident comes after a noose was found nearly two weeks ago in the museum's segregation exhibit.
