8 horses killed in Frederick County barn fire, officials say
UNION BRIDGE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Officials in Frederick County are investigating, after they say eight horses were killed after a barn caught fire in Union Bridge.
Frederick County fire says around 4:30 p.m., officials were called to 10000 block of Bessie Clemson Road.
Crews on scene arrived to find a 60 by 40 square foot barn, with 70 percent engulfed in flames.
Crews say they requested a tanker task force and it took 25 firefighters two hours to extinguish the fire.
The barn will be a complete loss, as well as eight horses who perished in the fire.
Investigators say the Maryland Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
