6 hurt on DC-bound flight from Nigeria
WASHINGTON - Six people, four passengers and two crew members, were injured on a United Airlines flight Friday from Lagos, Nigeria, to Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia, according to the airline.
What we know:
The aircraft jolted suddenly, injuring the six people.
Flight 613 made an emergency landing in Lagos, and the six injured people were taken to a nearby hospital, according to United Airlines. They have all been released, CNN reports.
The flight had 245 passengers, eight flight attendants and three pilots, according to United. The airline said it is working to place those passengers on other flights, who have reportedly been accommodated in hotels.
What we don't know:
It's unclear what caused the in-flight jolt. The cause was not severe turbulence, according to United Airlines.
The airline said it is "working with aviation authorities in the US and Nigeria to understand the cause."
