6 homes damaged, 3 firefighters injured after fire breaks out in Northwest DC
WASHINGTON - Three D.C. firefighters were injured in a Sunday morning blaze that left six homes damaged in Northwest.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the 1500 block of 9th Street, NW for a report of a top-floor fire that was spanning across four three-story row homes.
At least 20 units and 100 firefighters had to be called to the scene to battle the flames.
The three injured firefighters were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Their current conditions are unknown.
DC Fire and EMS says the fire began showing from a vacant building.
They have not yet said what the cause of the fire was but no civilian injuries were reported.
