3 robbery suspects arrested after SE DC chase

Three people were arrested by U.S. Park Police early Tuesday morning after a chase in southeast D.C. According to investigators, three females were spotted in a vehicle that was wanted in connection to a robbery.

U.S. Park Police spotted the vehicle around 3 a.m., and it fit the description of a white F-150 pickup truck wanted in connection to a robbery in the 3400 block of Minnesota Ave. SE and C Street SE around 2 am. Initially, the lookout given was for three black males.

When they spotted the truck about an hour after the robbery, officers pursued it, and the three females inside bailed out on 19th St. SE. The pursuit came to an end between P and Q St. SE and the three females were taken into custody. U.S. Park Police confirmed the three females are the suspects wanted in connection to the earlier robbery.

During the apprehension, one officer discharged a weapon, but no one was hurt. One person was, however, taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. U.S. Park Police are investigating the discharge of the officer's weapon.

A bullet hole could be seen in the front windshield of the truck the suspects were driving, but it's unclear if that bullet hole is related to this incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
