2 teens arrested for robbery of bicyclist on Metropolitan Branch Trail

D.C. police have arrested two people for the robbery of a bicycle rider on the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Northeast D.C.

A 29-year-old woman riding on the bike trail was pushed off her bike and robbed of $50 and her iPhone nearby Harry Thomas Way and R Street at around 11:20 a.m. on Monday.

A fellow bicyclist who witnessed the robbery captured the suspects on video from a camera on his bike. He told FOX 5, "They were just walking up and they pushed her and caused her to wobble. Knocked her off her bike and took her phone and cash out of her wallet."

Police say officers arrested two teenaged boys from Northeast D.C. on Tuesday for the incident and have charged them with robbery force and violence.
