2 adults, baby hospitalized after vehicle crashes into tree in Adelphi

ADELPHI, Md. - Two adults and a baby were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a tree in Adelphi Monday evening.

The accident happened in the 7300 block of Riggs Road at around 5:50 p.m., according to police.

Police say the driver fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to go off the road and slam into the tree.

Firefighters were seen working to extricate one of the victims trapped inside the vehicle. All three victims were taken to local trauma centers with non-life-threatening injuries.
