1st all-female Honor Flight brings veterans to DC

A group of female World War II veterans made history as they participated in the first ever Honor Flight made up entirely of women.

The flight touched down at D.C.'s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Tuesday where they were given a warm reception.

The group, which honors elderly veterans by providing free flights to the nation's capital to see war memorials, said its first all-female trip was organized with help from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The group plans to visit several monuments including the memorial for military women at Arlington National Cemetery.
