19-year-old missing after trip to store in NE DC located

UPDATE: D.C. police say Alexia Mesa was located Wednesday.

WASHINGTON -- Friends and family of a missing 19-year-old woman handed out flyers Wednesday night near the location where she was last seen in hopes of her safe return.

Alexia Mesa went missing on Saturday after telling friends she was stopping by a corner store near 17th Street and Benning Road in the northeast.

Friends say the mother of a 2-year-old boy left her cell phone and purse behind when she left for the store.

Mesa is described as 5'6'', 170 pounds and Hispanic. She has black, shoulder length hair and has a light brown complexion. She wears a nose ring and has a lion tattoo on her right shoulder and a rose tattoo on her right forearm.
