14-year-old boy missing since weekend found buried on Ohio farm

The body of a 14-year-old boy reported missing Sunday was found buried in a shallow grave on a northeast Ohio farm.

The body of Jonathon Minard was discovered Friday morning at a Washington Township farm, located roughly 90 miles southeast of Cleveland, authorities said.

Minard was last seen Saturday at a New Harrisburg farm owned by a friend's father, where he helps milk cows -- something the teenager's aunt said he has done "numerous times" before, according to FOX 8 Cleveland.

Investigators were told the teenager complained about a toothache and said he'd call his mother at the friend's house to pick him up.

Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams said earlier this week the mother didn't receive a call.

During a press conference Friday afternoon, the sheriff, prosecutor and coroner didn't provide any details about how the teen died, or whether there were suspects in his death.

Williams asked for the media to respect the family's privacy during "this time of sorrow and grief."

Carroll County Prosecutor Steve Barnett said the discovery of the teen's body was "just the first step" in gathering evidence "to answer many unanswered questions."

"Investigations like this take time, and this case is no exception," Barnett said.
