100 treated after deck collapses at Germantown party

GERMANTOWN, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - First responders treated about 100 people after a backyard deck collapsed during a house party Saturday night in Germantown.

Montgomery County authorities say the deck gave way due to overcrowding around 9:30 p.m. during a family celebration on Liberty Heights Lane.

Nobody was seriously hurt, but one partygoer went to the hospital for a non-life threatening injury, authorities say. First responders treated everyone else at the scene.

The deck fell about two weeks after a similar deck collapse during a party in Germantown, authorities say.
