WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) -- - The country of Belize is on the northeastern coast of Central America. It's home to about 400,000 people making it the second smallest country in that region.
Ambassador of Belize to the United States, Daniel Gutierrez, says the embassy has been located on Massachusetts Avenue in the Embassy Row neighborhood since 1991.
As you enter the embassy you can feel the charm of the Caribbean with canary yellow walls and traditional artwork. The country embraces its immigrant roots and welcomes visitors from around the world and its décor blends the history of many different cultures.
It's not all history -- the beauty of the country is recognized in artwork of native wildlife and in the spacious and lush grounds. The embassy also has its share of high profile neighbors such as former President Obama and Ivanka Trump.
