Sunday soaker: Rain to persist through the afternoon

Rain is in the forecast through Sunday afternoon.

It is looking like a Sunday soaker.

There will be rain on and off all day today.

The heaviest of the rain will be during the morning hours into the early afternoon. The heaviest of the rain ships to the east and south east of D.C. this afternoon.

We could pick up anywhere between three quarters of an inch to an inch or so for D.C., and two to three inches well out towards the Eastern Shore.

Temperatures stay only in the 50s low to mid 50s across the region today with all the rain, which are remnants of tropical storm Nestor.

Monday will be more dry with temperatures in the upper 60s for the region.
