Possible record heat Wednesday in DC area as temperatures expected to soar into mid-90s

If you thought the first day of October was toasty -- fasten your portable fan on for Wednesday!

FOX 5's Sue Palka says we're expecting record heat across the region as we head for the mid-90s today!

The record in Washington, D.C. is 89 degrees and if we hit 95 degrees that will shatter that record set in 1986.

It's also about 20 degrees above average for October 2nd!

We do see cooler air arriving for the end of the workweek so pace yourself in the heat and sun today so you're ready to enjoy the feel of fall that will be here soon!
