Flash flood watch in place for DC region as strong storms move in

The DC region will see mostly cloudy skies as temperatures warm up into the upper 70s and low 80s on Saturday.

There is the possibility for scattered thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and some of the storms could bring strong winds with them.

The area is under a flash flood watch Saturday evening and that watch will remain in place into Sunday morning.

There is the possibility for storms overnight through Sunday morning with heavy rain and wind. Some areas could see 1 to 3 inches of rain, while others could see up to 4 inches.

More showers and thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon and evening as highs are expected to reach into the upper 60s.
