Cold temperatures stick around Sunday; warm up is coming later this week

Cold temperatures are sticking around Sunday, a day after a blast of winter weather hit the D.C. region, but a Spring-like warm up is on the way.

Nine days. That's all that is left of winter. The spring equinox officially arrives next Sunday, and it seems that winter is determined not to go quietly.

A much more vigorous storm system could approach our region by the weekend though, causing some major impacts to travel for those in the Northeast corridor.

Chilly, dry Thursday with highs in the 50s

A dry day is on tap but it may take a while for the clouds to depart on our Thursday. FOX 5's Sue Palka says sunshine looks possible by afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 40s to low-50s.
