Sneak peek tour of Nationals Park for the upcoming 2016 season

The Washington Nationals home opener at Nationals Park kicks off on April 7 and FOX 5 got a sneak peek tour of the ballpark as Opening Day approaches.

The team will be playing its ninth season at the 41,546-seat stadium located along the Anacostia River.

"Each and every offseason, we creatively brainstorm how we can improve our food and beverage offerings, retail offerings, different experiences around the park and we think we have hit on some real winners this offseason," said Valerie Camillo, chief revenue and marketing officer for the Nationals.

Some of the new fan experiences at the ballpark this season will include giveaways such as a Bryce Harper MVP bobblehead, a Bryce Harper Chia Pet and two Max Scherzer bobbleheads commemorating his two no-hitters from last season.

Also in store for 2016 are reduced Happy Hour pricing, hospitality packages in which you can throw a birthday party for your child on game day at the ballpark, additional food for sale at the gallery level, more seating and an extended bar at the club level and a lounge for nursing mothers that opened in August of last season.
