Sunday was more of the same for the winless Redskins, who scored early against the Patriots just to give up more than 30 unanswered points in another losing effort.

The loss drops the Redskins to 0-5 on the season. The final score was 33-7.

The 'Skins showed signs of life early, including a 65-yard touchdown run by undrafted rookie Steven Sims:

The Redskins defense also managed to pressure Tom Brady, collecting four sacks.

But points are what count, and the Patriots scored 33 of them unanswered after Sims' big play. Colt McCoy got his first start of the season under center, but was sacked five times in a largely ineffective effort.

The loss adds more uncertainty to the fate of Head Coach Jay Gruden. Ready or not, rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins figures to get more starts as the Redskins season continues to slip away.

The Redskins next game is next Sunday at the winless Miami Dolphins. It's their best bet at their first win on the season, but with the Skins likely playing more for a draft pick than a playoff spot this season, a win might not really be a victory.
