#NatsRide: Without Metro, Nats fans reach out on social media to share ride home from ballpark
WASHINGTON - Many Nationals fans are scrambling to figure out how they are going to get home from Nationals Park in light of the news that Metro will not be opening past midnight to accommodate those in attendance for the big NLDS Game 5 against the Dodgers.
With an 8:08 p.m. start, many expect the game to end after Metro closes. But instead of going with alternative options that include taxicabs or ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft, many Nationals fans are turning to social media to plan out cost-friendlier ways to get to and from Nats Park and are even making new friends while at it.
Using the hashtag #NatsRide, Game 5 attendees are reaching out with fellow Nats fans in need to get to the ballpark.
While others are seeking a ride for the game:
Some Good Samaritans, who don't even have a ticket, are even offering to drive people home from the game.
Many also say they are just impressed by the generosity and dedication of Nationals fans. Let's hope the good vibes continue Thursday and lead to a Nats win!
