Free tickets for Washington Capitals Stanley Cup viewing party gone in 10 minutes
WASHINGTON - Free tickets to attend the Washington Capitals viewing party at Capital One Arena on Thursday appeared to run out in under 10 minutes.
The Caps are one win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup in victory and fans who can't attend the game in Las Vegas were hoping for a chance to watch the team on the jumbotron in Capital One Arena.
Fans had the option of watching the Washington Mystics play the Minnesota Lynx for free and then staying for the viewing party. The other option was to try to grab tickets for just the viewing party. Those tickets were released at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and when FOX 5 went to check the tickets were already gone at about 1:10 p.m.
If you didn't have any luck getting tickets for the viewing party, the Caps will broadcast the game outside the arena on the video boards located at G Street and 8th Street NW beginning at 8 p.m. No tickets are required to watch from outside the arena.
Let's go Caps! #ALLCAPS
